Wind Cave National Park

Location: South Dakota.

This park is named after Wind Cave, one of the longest and most complex caves in the world. Above ground, the park features a mixed-grass prairie and ponderosa pine forest, providing a range of habitats for plants and animals. The area has a rich cultural history, with evidence of human occupation dating back over 10,000 years. The Lakota Sioux consider Wind Cave to be a sacred place.
