16 page full color booklet featuring My America - An Illustrated journey pieces, and the stories behind my artwork.  

"My America journey began with the discovery of an old photo album, its pages crowded with faded photographs and brittle legal documents. As I turned each page, I pieced together the story of my German ancestors— people who left behind everything familiar to build a new life here in America. Their courage and hope laid the foundation for the life I know today. Adventurous, hardworking spirits which have been passed down for generations, creating a legacy of entrepreneurial spirit that’s hard to ignore. Among the treasures in that old photo album are snapshots of the family homestead in Wilkinsburg, PA, their prized Ford Model-T automobile and a family camping trip to Washington, D.C. The American flag  that can been seen on their front porch, as well as at  each campsite along their route, showed their  patriotism and love for their new country. I hope you enjoy their stories as much as I enjoyed piecing together the puzzle of my family’s history."

In honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Heinz History Center has partnered with the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators (PSI) to create an exhibition that explores that very question. Featuring 63 original works of art by 35 illustrators, My America: An Illustrated Experience uses the power of illustration to reflect on ideals associated with the American Revolution and the pillars at the heart of the nation’s founding — freedom, equality, justice, and opportunity.
