Located in present-day Farmington, PA, Fort Necessity was a fort built by George Washington and his men in hopes to defend against an attack from French soldiers. The battle occurred on July 3rd, 1754 where Washington was outnumbered to the French and Indians. It was the first and only military surrender of George Washington's military career.
