Forbes Field was a historic baseball stadium located in the Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, a Major League Baseball team, from 1909 to 1970. The stadium was named after John Forbes, a British general who played a role in the capture of Fort Duquesne during the French and Indian War. The stadium was demolished in 1971, and the University of Pittsburgh's Pitt Stadium was built on the site.
